The Common Thread: Art Workshop

July 18 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$40 – $100

The Common Thread: Reveal Emotion Through Fiber, Wood & Metal

Join artists Kelly Drake (fiber/fabric) and Daniel Zuber (assemblage/design) for The Common Thread, a one-of-a-kind collaborative art workshop where creativity, texture, and storytelling come together.

In this hands-on experience, participants will explore the concept of emotion through sculpture and 2D art, combining fiber, wood, metal, and found objects to create a unique personal artwork. Through wrapping, covering, connecting, layering, weaving, and assembling, you’ll discover how everyday materials can express powerful ideas and feelings.

Guided by two experienced artists with diverse creative backgrounds, you’ll have access to an inspiring assortment of materials, including:

Wood & Metal Elements

  • Rock-tumbled wood pieces
  • Wire
  • Rusted treasures and found objects
  • Beads
  • Nails, nuts, bolts, and more

Fiber Materials

  • Yarn and string
  • Fabric scraps (large and small)
  • Wool roving
  • Twine
  • Small cardboard looms

No prior artistic experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and imagination. All tools and supplies are included.
