DESCRIPTION:The Partnership for the Arts & Humanities is excited to announce the return of the Scramble for the Arts Golf Outing\, presented by Mans Lumber & Home! Join us on Friday\, September 5 for another fun day of golf at beautiful Pheasant Run Golf Club while supporting the arts and humanities in our community! The cost is $150 per golfer and includes a light breakfast\, lunch at the turn\, snacks\, and a delicious catered dinner on the green. There will be a variety of fun games on the course and the opportunity for the top teams to win prizes. Register yourself or your full team. DESCRIPTION:The Village Arts Factory proudly presents The Magic of Trees\, a captivating art exhibit featuring the works of Elena Adam (Dearborn\, MI)\, Sylvia Bandyke (Royal Oak\, MI)\, and Sharlene Welton (Canton\, MI). Though each artist works in a different medium—colored pencil\, acrylics\, mixed media\, photography\, and collage—their artistic journeys intertwine around one shared subject: the mystery\, resilience\, and beauty of trees. \nFor Elena Adam\, trees are living magicians\, quietly shaping the world around us. Her vibrant works in acrylics and colored pencil reflect their silent strength and dreamlike presence\, inviting viewers to see trees as guardians and storytellers. \nSylvia Bandyke\, a photographer and collage artist\, finds in trees a symbol of continuity and healing. With roots reaching deep into the earth and branches stretching skyward\, trees remind us of balance\, grounding\, and endurance. Her pieces often layer stories and perspectives\, offering viewers a thoughtful and layered visual experience. \nFor Sharlene Welton\, trees are deeply personal—symbols of memory\, nurture\, and growth rooted in her family’s traditions and childhood. Through her acrylic and mixed media work\, she explores trees as protectors and givers\, their presence tied to both tender and bittersweet stories that connect people\, place\, and time. \nTogether\, these three artists—longtime friends and collaborators through the Dearborn Art Club—have created an exhibit that reflects not only their individual voices but also the bond between them. Their combined works celebrate the magnificence of trees: their mystery\, their magic\, their strength\, and their enduring presence in our lives. To mark the opening of this special exhibition\, the Village Arts Factory invites the community to attend an opening reception on Friday\, September 5\, from 6:00–8:00 PM\, where guests will have the opportunity to explore the artwork\, meet the artists\, and enjoy tasty bites and refreshments in a warm and welcoming setting. \nThe Magic of Trees will remain on public exhibit at the Village Arts Factory through Sunday\, September 28. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday\, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM\, or by special appointment. Admission is free.
