SUMMARY:Spring Doormat Craft Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the return of sunshine and flowers with a fun Spring Doormat Craft Workshop at the Village Arts Factory! Join us on Sunday\, May 5 as we get into the creative spirit and create custom all-weather doormats. Select from one of four stencil designs and bring home a beautiful\, spring-themed doormat to grace your porch or mudroom. The cost is only $45 and includes all materials! The workshop begins at 10am and will run approximately one hour. You’ll be able to take your mat home with you that same day. All mats are the same standard size: 18”x 30”. This workshop is recommended for ages 16+ but a child may attend with their parent. Invite your friends and family and enjoy a fun morning out at the Village Arts Factory!

SUMMARY:Rick Goff: Artist's Reception & Gallery Open House
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Gallery Open House and Artist’s Reception of Images of Spring (Mostly) on Wednesday\, May 8 at the Village Arts Factory from 6 to 8pm. Browse the artwork\, meet the artist\, and enjoy a variety of light refreshments. This event is free to attend and open to the public. \nRichard Goff has been painting for more than 40 years. This exhibit features a range of his work\, subject matter\, and representational style. The paintings are rendered in bright hues of gouache applied over a background of India ink on watercolor paper. Goff is a signature artist of the Virginia Watercolor Society\, a juried member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists\, a board member of the Michigan Watercolor Society\, and a University of Michigan alum. He is retired following a long career in municipal government\, lives in Ann Arbor\, and participates in the Sunday Artisan Market at Kerrytown Market & Shops.

The art of folding paper\, known as origami\, has been celebrated and enjoyed for over 1\,000 years. Join us on Saturday\, May 18th at 3:00pm for a fun afternoon of learning how to create beautiful origami flowers. Our certified therapeutic recreation staff will be on site to ensure that your teen enjoys a safe\, supportive\, and sensory-friendly environment. This program is recommended for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 with special physical\, development\, or sensory sensitivity considerations. SUMMARY:Glass Fusion Workshop: "Bee" Kind Beehive Wind Chime
DESCRIPTION:We’ve partnered with Kiss My Glass to offer this fun and unique glass fusion workshop at the Village Arts Factory! Please join us on May 29th to create this adorable beehive wind chime; approx. size 4″. The cost is just $42 per person. \nNo experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Let our fused glass instructor show you how easy it is to cut and design something beautiful with glass. This class is also appropriate for children age 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult who will cut the glass for them. (Due to limited seating\, you will need to purchase 2 registrations.) \nYou will create your design by using a special tac glue as an adhesive and all projects will go home with the instructor to be kiln fired and assembled and delivered back to the center in about 10 days. An email will be sent out when ready for pickup. \nPlease let your friends and family know about the fun! \nCancellation Policy: Registrations may be cancelled and refunded up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. Due to the nature of this workshop and the need to purchase materials and supplies in advance\, we cannot offer refunds within 7 days of the workshop date. You may transfer your registration to someone else or receive a teacher-made finished project instead.
