DESCRIPTION:Join us for these special Art Walks that will be held quarterly in beautiful Cherry Hill Village! \nWe’ll meet at The Village Theater where we’ll enjoy donuts and coffee and view the current exhibit at the Gallery at Cherry Hill Village\, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road.  Next\, we’ll head to the Village Arts Factory for a short tour where we’ll end our walk enjoying the Fine Art Gallery’s current exhibit. This is a wonderful opportunity to view the beautiful art on display in Cherry Hill Village\, guided by the gallery coordinators at both facilities. SUMMARY:Art Exhibit Reception: Myriad Textures of Musings
DESCRIPTION:The Village Arts Factory is proud to welcome Detroit-based artist Marcia K. Hales for an extraordinary solo art exhibition this May\, titled Myriad Textures of Musings. The exhibit will feature nearly three-dozen of the artist’s signature\, abstract works. Join us for the opening reception on Tuesday\, May 6\, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Browse the exhibit\, meet the artist\, and enjoy a variety of light refreshments. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome. \nAbout the Exhibit \nMyriad Textures of Musings\, a solo exhibition by Detroit-based artist Marcia K. Hales\, invites viewers into a dynamic interplay of depth\, movement\, and imagination. Known for her ability to transform space through abstract forms and layered textures\, Hales creates works that reflect her musings on everyday life and imagined experiences. Her newest pieces encourage the eye to dance freely across the canvas\, engaging both visually and emotionally. \nRooted in a lifelong passion for the handmade\, Hales began painting in her hometown of Farmington\, Michigan. Her artistic journey has taken her across the country—from studying and exhibiting in Massachusetts and California to settling in Northern Michigan for nearly two decades. Since 2020\, she has called Detroit home\, where she remains an active participant in the local arts community. \nHales holds an MFA in Design from UMass Dartmouth and has exhibited internationally\, with her work held in collections across the U.S.\, Mexico\, the Netherlands\, France\, and Turkey. She has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions and continues to be represented by Twisted Fish Gallery in Elk Rapids\, Michigan. \nIn Myriad Textures of Musings\, Hales offers a collection of recent linear works that blur the line between the tangible and the abstract. Inspired by fleeting moments—a forest of trees\, children at play\, or the imagined rhythm of music—her paintings serve as open invitations to explore\, reflect\, and\, perhaps\, get quietly lost within them.

SUMMARY:Glass Fusion Workshop: Nature's Friends
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for this adorable “Nature’s Friends” Glass Fusion Workshop at the Village Arts Factory! This in-person workshop is simple and fun\, and easy enough for a beginner. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing evening crafting and enjoying the unique experience of working with glass. With nature’s friends\, we enjoy more of life’s beauty! \nWhen purchasing your ticket\, select from making a lavender night light or sun catcher. The clear base piece will be cut for you and we will work with glass that is easy to design with minimal cutting. The cost is $42 per person. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is needed. \nThis glass workshop is appropriate for children ages 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult; tickets will need to be purchased for both adult and child. All projects will go home with the instructor to kiln fired and will be delivered back to the Village Arts Factory in approximately 10-12 days. An email will be sent out to participants with pick-up instructions. \nPlease note: closed-toed shoes and covered drink containers are required. Sorry\, no snacks allowed. Food and glass do not mix! Please let your friends and family know about the fun! \nPlease note: Due to the need to purchase class supplies in advance\, there are no refunds for this class within 5 days of the event. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a fun and creative glass wind chime workshop at the Village Arts Factory! This is a simple and enjoyable class where you’ll learn how to easily bead and assemble a beautiful wind chime. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing evening crafting and enjoying a great art experience with friends or by yourself! \nThe cost is $39 per person and all materials will be provided. No previous experience is necessary. Participants will enjoy a huge assortment of beautiful beads to choose from to customize their chime. All glass bottles will be cut prior to class\, though we will enjoy a hands-on experience with sanding them together. \nThis glass workshop is appropriate for children ages 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult; tickets will need to be purchased for both adult and child. Please bring a shopping bag or tote bag with you as this is a take-home project and will be ready to go with you at the end of class. \nPlease note: Due to the need to purchase class supplies in advance\, there are no refunds for this class within 5 days of the event.
