SUMMARY:The Full Spectrum of Colored Pencil
DESCRIPTION:Discover what colored pencils are truly capable of in this engaging and technique-focused workshop. Whether you’re picking up colored pencils for the first time or looking to refine your existing skills\, this class is designed to help you grow as an artist. \nThrough guided demonstrations and hands-on instruction\, students will explore essential techniques such as layering\, burnishing\, blending\, and creating realistic highlights and shadows. We will examine how these techniques apply across a variety of subjects\, including still life\, landscape\, and portraiture. \nAdditional topics include: \n\nSelecting and using the best tools and materials\nProfessional tips and “secrets of the trade”\nWorking from photo reference\nComposition and mechanical drawing basics\nIncorporating digital editing into your process\n\nThe class will begin with five structured beginner projects to build foundational skills. Returning students may choose from intermediate and advanced projects\, including portrait studies featuring a variety of skin tones. Participants are also welcome to bring a personal drawing they would like guidance on. \nMaterials\nStudents are required to bring their own supplies. Please review the required supply list carefully to ensure you have all necessary materials for full participation. \nRefund Policy\nParticipants wishing to withdraw must submit a cancellation request at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the program to receive a refund. Refund requests made fewer than seven (7) days before the program begins cannot be honored. Working with acrylics\, oils\, inks\, vintage magazines\, comics\, and found materials\, Dragan constructs visually striking compositions that invite viewers to interpret and emotionally engage with iconic imagery and unexpected textures. \nCassidy Barnett explores memory\, materiality\, and personal history through screen printing\, painting\, and fabric manipulation. Her layered works—often incorporating textiles and translucent surfaces—examine how recollection shifts over time\, blending nostalgia with contemporary visual language. \nChase Linden\, creator of OAOWORLD\, merges music\, fashion\, and visual art into colorful\, imaginative worlds rooted in curiosity and positive energy.
