DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Village Arts Factory as our instructors from STEAMNSlime (formerly Challenge Island) show your kids what it takes to build the Sydney Harbor Bridge! With this construction theme\, the children will learn and utilize the scientific concepts of force and gravity. They will think through the challenges faced by engineers in building bridges\, such as the strength needed\, and what shape or design will be the strongest. Organized in groups\, the children will flex their art skills to create a harbor water scene that includes marine wildlife. Next\, they will build a bridge across their harbor that is at least 12 inches long\, consisting of at least 2 levels\, and testing it to see how much weight it supports. This is an awesome opportunity for your kids to learn how art\, physics\, and engineering can work together to create something fun and educational! DESCRIPTION:We’ve partnered with Kiss My Glass to offer this fun and unique glass fusion workshop at the Village Arts Factory! Please join us on June 18th to create this beautiful pinwheel garden flower; approx. size 15″ x 5″. The cost is just $39 per person. \nNo experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Let our fused glass instructor show you how easy it is to cut and design something beautiful with glass. This class is also appropriate for children age 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult who will cut the glass for them. (Due to limited seating\, you will need to purchase 2 registrations.) \nYou will create your design by using a special tac glue as an adhesive and all projects will go home with the instructor to be kiln fired and assembled and delivered back to the center in about 10 days. An email will be sent out when ready for pickup. Please let your friends and family know about the fun! \nCancellation Policy: Registrations may be cancelled and refunded up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. Due to the nature of this workshop and the need to purchase materials and supplies in advance\, we cannot offer refunds within 7 days of the workshop date. Please join us on May 29th to create this adorable beehive wind chime; approx. size 4″. The cost is just $42 per person. \nNo experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Let our fused glass instructor show you how easy it is to cut and design something beautiful with glass. This class is also appropriate for children age 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult who will cut the glass for them. This exhibit features a range of his work\, subject matter\, and representational style. The paintings are rendered in bright hues of gouache applied over a background of India ink on watercolor paper. Goff is a signature artist of the Virginia Watercolor Society\, a juried member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists\, a board member of the Michigan Watercolor Society\, and a University of Michigan alum. He is retired following a long career in municipal government\, lives in Ann Arbor\, and participates in the Sunday Artisan Market at Kerrytown Market & Shops.

Barre is a low-impact\, high-intensity workout that combines ballet\, Pilates\, and yoga. It’s a great way to tone your muscles\, improve your flexibility\, and burn calories. No previous experience necessary and all fitness levels welcome! If you’ve ever been curious to try Barre\, this is the perfect opportunity to sample this fun and unique fitness medium. \nFollowing the Barre class\, our afterglow will include light refreshments such as fruit and nuts\, cheese and crackers\, wine\, and water. There will also be time to socialize\, connect with other attendees\, and explore the art gallery at the Village Arts Factory. DESCRIPTION:We’re excited for the official launch of our Teen A.C.E. program! Join us on Saturday\, March 16th at 3:00pm for our kick-off event: a game night and pizza party at the Village Arts Factory. Our certified therapeutic recreation staff will be on site to ensure that your teen enjoys a safe\, supportive\, and sensory-friendly environment. This program is recommended for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 with special physical\, development\, or sensory sensitivity considerations. Games will be adapted to provide an inclusive experience\, including Jenga\, Uno\, and Guess Who?. The cost is $10 per teen and space is limited to 20.
