Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media on paper and canvas\, her vivid\, expressive compositions serve as visual poems — layered with tension\, contrast\, and emotional depth. \nBorn from a deeply personal evolution\, Xavier-Grondin’s work explores the complexity of being a woman\, a mother\, and an immigrant. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for this beautiful “Sunflowers” Glass Fusion Workshop at the Village Arts Factory! This in-person workshop is simple and fun\, and easy enough for a beginner. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing evening crafting and enjoying the unique experience of working with glass. With flowers\, we enjoy more of life’s beauty! \nParticipants can choose from making a nightlight or a sun catcher the evening of the class. The cost is $42 per person. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is needed. \nThis glass workshop is appropriate for children ages 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult; tickets will need to be purchased for both adult and child. All projects will go home with the instructor to be kiln fired and will be delivered back to the Village Arts Factory in approximately 10-12 days. An email will be sent out to participants with pick-up instructions. \nPlease note: closed-toed shoes and covered drink containers are required. Sorry\, no snacks allowed. Through delicate studies of plant life\, mushrooms\, insects\, ornamental glass\, and tile\, this exhibit blends the organic with the ornamental—infused with the graceful curves and decorative elegance of the Art Nouveau movement. \nPrimarily working in watercolor and oil\, Gabrielle Dolin draws inspiration from Michigan’s native flora and fauna\, combining artistic tradition with contemporary reflection. Underneath the visual allure lie deeper themes of connection\, rejection\, intimacy\, and the transformation of parts into wholes—offering viewers a quiet invitation to discover personal meaning in each piece. \nThe artist is a self-taught creative from Fowlerville\, Michigan\, and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy at Wayne State University\, she brings a therapeutic lens to her creative process. Her work has been featured in Cellar Roots and the Riverside Arts Center\, and she received honorable mention at the Three Cities Art Club’s Juried Exhibition for her piece Nouveau Ballet. In addition to her personal art practice\, she serves as a Therapeutic Arts Specialist with the Partnership for the Arts and Humanities\, helping young artists find expression and healing through creative exploration. \nJoin us at the Village Arts Factory for the exhibit opening reception on Friday\, July 11\, from 6pm to 8pm. A Secret Garden is more than a visual journey—it’s a testament to the beauty of close observation\, the quiet symbolism of nature\, and the healing potential of art.

DESCRIPTION:Come join us for this beautiful “Lavender Fields” Glass Fusion Workshop at the Village Arts Factory! This in-person workshop is simple and fun\, and easy enough for a beginner. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing evening crafting and enjoying the unique experience of working with glass. \nWhen purchasing your ticket\, select from making a lavender night light or sun catcher. The clear base piece will be cut for you and we will work with glass that is easy to design with minimal cutting. The cost is $42 per person. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is needed. \nThis glass workshop is appropriate for children ages 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult; tickets will need to be purchased for both adult and child. All projects will go home with the instructor to kiln fired and will be delivered back to the Village Arts Factory in approximately 10-12 days. SUMMARY:Art Exhibit Reception: Nature's Beauty
DESCRIPTION:Nature’s Beauty\, a solo exhibition by Courtney Crider\, is about celebrating the natural beauty of both people and nature – highlighting Black beauty in honor of Juneteenth. Courtney believes that every human is a beautiful creation\, formed by God himself. This Juneteenth\, she wants to highlight Black beauty alongside His floral creations. \nCourtney’s art is first drawn digitally\, freehand on a tablet with a stylus. Her work is then printed as giclee art prints with some of them hand embellished with a variety of materials. Creating mixed media artwork is a newer discipline for Courtney\, as she recently began experimenting with collage art and wanted to incorporate that with her digital paintings. This exhibition will be her first time unveiling her mixed media work to the public eye. Nature’s Beauty will feature new pieces inspired by florals and black beauty\, paired with old favorites that have been newly embellished with mixed media materials. \nA passage from the Bible\, Matthew 6:28-34\, is one thing that inspired this exhibition’s theme: “The lilies of the field neither toil nor spin\, yet they are beautiful as they are. God made them that way. And if even the wild grass is clothed with such beautiful lilies\, how much more will He clothe\, oh yes\, you? If God takes delight in His floral creations\, how much more joyful is He over the beauty of his human creations?” \nPlease join us for the opening reception of Nature’s Beauty on Monday\, June 2 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. All are welcome to come explore the exhibit\, meet the artist\, and partake in light refreshments. The exhibit will remain on public display at the Village Arts Factory through the end of June. SUMMARY:Glass Art Workshop: Wind Chimes
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a fun and creative glass wind chime workshop at the Village Arts Factory! This is a simple and enjoyable class where you’ll learn how to easily bead and assemble a beautiful wind chime. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing evening crafting and enjoying a great art experience with friends or by yourself! \nThe cost is $39 per person and all materials will be provided. No previous experience is necessary. Participants will enjoy a huge assortment of beautiful beads to choose from to customize their chime. All glass bottles will be cut prior to class\, though we will enjoy a hands-on experience with sanding them together. \nThis glass workshop is appropriate for children ages 10+ who are accompanied by a paid adult; tickets will need to be purchased for both adult and child. Please bring a shopping bag or tote bag with you as this is a take-home project and will be ready to go with you at the end of class. \nPlease note: Due to the need to purchase class supplies in advance\, there are no refunds for this class within 5 days of the event. If an emergency arises\, you may send someone else in your place or contact the instructor to choose a wind chime or wind chime kit made for you in lieu of your empty seat.
