DESCRIPTION:The Village Arts Factory is thrilled to present the stained glass art of Robert Wollenhaupt in his first solo exhibit\, titled “Coming Full Circle.” Founder of Woolhead Glassworks studio\, Wollenhaupt is a Michigan native who has developed his own unique processes to create stained glass and steel panels over the last 3 years. Utilizing his experience as a mechanical engineer\, the artist uses a CNC Fiber Laser to precisely cut the steel frames that both support and frame his pieces. This pioneering technique allows Wollenhaupt to explore finishes that cannot be used with traditional stained glass art\, such as powder coating\, printed vinyl\, and epoxy resin. Both glass and frame are thus masterfully unified into a singular expressive work. \nJoin us for the Art Gallery Reception and Open House on Thursday\, March 14 at the Village Arts Factory from 6 to 8pm. Browse the artwork\, meet the artist\, and enjoy a variety of light refreshments. This event is free to attend and open to the public. A special Q&A discussion with the artist will begin at 6:30pm. DESCRIPTION:This event is a partnership between the Canton Village Theater and the Village Arts Factory. The Canton Village Theater will showcase the 29th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition\, which brings together works of some of the best artists throughout southeast Michigan. Furthermore\, the theater will provide donuts\, cider\, and an outdoor fall family photo station. The Village Arts Factory will hold a Youth Art Fair\, promoting the work of artists aged 8 to 18. Student artists will be able to sell their original work or reproductions\, and promote their art and passion. Informative sessions will be offered to all participants. A Chalk Art Festival will connect the two spaces by inviting participants to purchase a bag of chalk and a designated sidewalk square for their art. Local chalk artists will be invited to showcase their skills as well.
