Shared Frequencies

Featuring Chris Dragan, Cassidy Barnett, and Chase Linden

This March, the Village Arts Factory presents a vibrant pop-art exhibition showcasing three dynamic artists whose work reimagines contemporary culture through bold color, layered imagery, and personal narrative.

Chris Dragan (DraganPopArt) brings an energetic fusion of pop art, abstraction, and bricolage. Working with acrylics, oils, inks, vintage magazines, comics, and found materials, Dragan constructs visually striking compositions that invite viewers to interpret and emotionally engage with iconic imagery and unexpected textures.

Cassidy Barnett explores memory, materiality, and personal history through screen printing, painting, and fabric manipulation. Her layered works—often incorporating textiles and translucent surfaces—examine how recollection shifts over time, blending nostalgia with contemporary visual language.

on display march 3 through march 28, 2026

Chase Linden, creator of OAOWORLD, merges music, fashion, and visual art into colorful, imaginative worlds rooted in curiosity and positive energy. His bold, graphic style and sculptural elements reflect a playful spirit that connects viewers to creativity and community.

Together, these artists offer distinct yet complementary approaches to pop-inspired expression—celebrating color, culture, memory, and imagination.

Join us at the Village Arts Factory on Friday, March 13, for the opening reception of Shared Frequencies. Stop by between 6:00 and 8:00pm to meet the artists, view the exhibit, and enjoy a variety of light refreshments. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome!

on display April 1 through April 28, 2026

The Village Arts Factory is proud to present a group exhibition featuring members of the Michigan Water Color Society. This collection showcases a wide range of styles, techniques, and subject matter—from expressive abstraction to finely detailed realism—demonstrating the versatility and expressive power of watercolor.

Each work in the exhibition reflects the artist’s unique voice and approach to water media, offering viewers an intimate look at the creative possibilities of the medium. As a juried and professionally driven organization, MWCS artists bring a high level of craftsmanship and innovation to their work, resulting in a compelling and diverse exhibition experience.

This exhibition is part of a longstanding tradition of sharing exceptional watercolor work with communities across Michigan. Visitors are invited to explore the subtlety, luminosity, and spontaneity that define watercolor painting, while engaging with artwork that captures both the beauty of everyday moments and the imagination of the artists behind them.

Featuring the Michigan Water Color Society

Founded in 1946, the Michigan Water Color Society is one of the state’s longest-standing and most respected artist organizations dedicated to watercolor and water media. Established by a collective of visionary artists, the Society was created to promote the appreciation of watercolor painting, support artistic growth, and uphold high standards of creativity and professionalism.

For nearly 80 years, the organization has served as a vital hub for artists across Michigan, offering opportunities for exhibitions, workshops, critiques, and professional development. Through juried exhibitions and community programming, MWCS continues to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment for artists working in watercolor and related media.

Today, the Society’s annual exhibitions and traveling shows bring award-winning work to galleries throughout the state, highlighting both emerging and established artists and celebrating the diversity and innovation of contemporary water media.
