Location: Canton, MI

Position Type: Part-Time (up to 30 hours per week, evenings and weekends as required)

Compensation: $23.00 per hour + 3% wage supplement, 20 hours PTO annually, and 4 hours of paid leave for major holidays


About the Role

The Partnership for the Arts and Humanities, together with the Charter Township of Canton, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Arts Program Coordinator (APC) to support and expand arts and cultural programming in Cherry Hill Village. This is an exciting opportunity to help transform the Village into a vibrant hub for culture, creativity, and community connection.

The APC will coordinate existing arts programs and events such as Summer Camps, Salute to Service, Chinese Spring Festival, MLK Day, International Festival, Adult Arts Education, Interactive Tours, Scouting Programs, Cultural Movie Nights, Fall Into Art, Family Science & Art Night, and Pop-Up Arts events. In addition, the APC will collaborate with local artists, tenants at the Village Arts Warehouse, and community partners to develop new programming that strengthens Cherry Hill Village as a cultural destination.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, promote, and deliver existing arts and cultural programs.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Village Arts Warehouse tenants, local artists, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Develop new arts programming and community engagement opportunities.
  • Assist with program marketing, communications, and event promotion.
  • Manage budgets, track participation, and implement program evaluations.
  • Recruit, direct, and supervise volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts programming/management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in arts program development and community engagement.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of current trends in arts and culture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Ability to develop and manage program budgets and evaluations.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
