The Village Arts Factory is thrilled to present the stained glass art of Robert Wollenhaupt in his first solo exhibit, titled “Coming Full Circle.” Founder of Woolhead Glassworks studio, Wollenhaupt is a Michigan native who has developed his own unique processes to create stained glass and steel panels over the last 3 years. Utilizing his experience as a mechanical engineer, the artist uses a CNC Fiber Laser to precisely cut the steel frames that both support and frame his pieces. This pioneering technique allows Wollenhaupt to explore finishes that cannot be used with traditional stained glass art, such as powder coating, printed vinyl, and epoxy resin. Both glass and frame are thus masterfully unified into a singular expressive work.
Join us for the Art Gallery Reception and Open House on Thursday, March 14 at the Village Arts Factory from 6 to 8pm. Browse the artwork, meet the artist, and enjoy a variety of light refreshments. This event is free to attend and open to the public. A special Q&A discussion with the artist will begin at 6:30pm. Come and learn about Wollenhaupt’s time working at the W.E. Hennells factory and warehouse, which is now the site of the Village Arts Factory.
