The Full Spectrum of Colored Pencil

Discover what colored pencils are truly capable of in this engaging and technique-focused workshop. Whether you’re picking up colored pencils for the first time or looking to refine your existing skills, this class is designed to help you grow as an artist.
Through guided demonstrations and hands-on instruction, students will explore essential techniques such as layering, burnishing, blending, and creating realistic highlights and shadows. We will examine how these techniques apply across a variety of subjects, including still life, landscape, and portraiture.
Additional topics include:
- Selecting and using the best tools and materials
- Professional tips and “secrets of the trade”
- Working from photo reference
- Composition and mechanical drawing basics
- Incorporating digital editing into your process
The class will begin with five structured beginner projects to build foundational skills. Returning students may choose from intermediate and advanced projects, including portrait studies featuring a variety of skin tones. Participants are also welcome to bring a personal drawing they would like guidance on.
Materials
Students are required to bring their own supplies. Please review the required supply list carefully to ensure you have all necessary materials for full participation.
Refund Policy
Participants wishing to withdraw must submit a cancellation request at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the program to receive a refund. Refund requests made fewer than seven (7) days before the program begins cannot be honored. This policy ensures instructors are fairly compensated for preparation time and materials.
